Of Mice and Men relationships

Candy and his dog had a very good relationship. Candy had raised the dog ever since the dog was a pup and they had grown very close. They were pretty much inseparable. George and Lennie have a similar relationship George and Lennie basically grew up together and when Lennie’s aunt died Lennie would follow George out and work with him. George had basically raised Lennie after his aunt died and they have traveled together ever since working on different ranches building a stronger bond between them.

Independent book thoughts

I think that the main character will escape from the cave and rejoin his friends, I think this because he met a character that supposedly can show him the way out. I like the setting and the characters in the book the setting seems beautiful and the character seem very alive and are well written, the creatures are also really cool. In both The Hobbit and Of Mice and Men the main characters have a dream to achieve something.

Belonging

When a person belongs it means that they are loved and respected by the people around them. It means that they love the people around and all the people around are similar in a lot of ways. It is important for a person to belong somewhere or to a certain group because then they won’t feel as lonely and in turn they would have a less likely chance of becoming depressed or someone who no one wants to be around. When someone loves you it makes you feel good and special and when someone loves you it means that you belong with them because they won’t disregard you and leave you behind when they are doing something.

Of Mice and Men Anticipation Statements

A true friend will tell you the truth, even when you don’t want to hear it. I gave this a 10 because if a friend doesn’t want to tell you the truth about something because they believe that it will hurt your feelings then it hurts you more knowing that they are hiding something from you. When a friend can tell you the truth about something even if it hurts your feelings you can maybe try to do something to fix the issue so telling the truth allows for change whereas lying about something to make everything seem fine and so nothing changes and the bad things stay bad.

Being rich is more important than having close friends. I gave this a 1 because money doesn’t buy happiness so you can have all the money in the world but you most likely won’t be happy. Having close friends and other family around is much better than having money because you are more likely to be happy.

Hysteria in Limetown

In Limetown people were excited about the concept of the tech, but not everyone got the tech there was a control group. When someone who wasn’t in that control group got the implant the people who did not have the implant freaked out and destroyed the supplement supply. This caused people with the implant to freak out because the device in their head was freaking out. The people with the tech experienced hysteria from not being able to have the supplement for the tech which made them feel immense fear from being able to hear everyone at the same time inside their heads. This lead to the killing of Oscar Totem which caused even more fear for the people with the implants because they felt what it was like to die.

Independent book thoughts

I think that the book The Hobbit is a very good book the main plot is pretty simple but exciting. Dwarves reclaiming their home from a dragon with the help of a wizard and a hobbit is a very enjoyable plot. Almost all of the main characters are likable the most likable being Gandalf the Gray the wizard that joined them on their journey to their home.

TIQA paragraphs about Zits emotions, behavior, and his emotions

Shame

Many teens feel shame some more than others. Some teens feel more shame than others even if they did the same thing. The article I read had said some pretty interesting things about shame and what it can do to a teen one thing that the article said was “Sometimes when a teen feels shame they might harm themselves or commit acts of violence on others”. So ashamed teens can be very violent especially without the right guidance. The article also stated that” Teens who feel ashamed deem themselves worthless”. Teens can feel like they are nothing sometimes when they are ashamed. “It’s hard for teens who are ashamed to stay in a relationship”. When a teen is ashamed it is hard for them to make or keep friends or any other relationship they might have. This could be because when they are ashamed they don’t act like themselves and they act down and depressed so people don’t want anything to do with them.

Although some teens feel worse than others when they are ashamed some teens aren’t bothered by shame. Of course they feel shame but they don’t feel it as harshly as others so it doesn’t bother them as much. This means that most of the issues that shame effects others don’t effect them and they are able to keep relationships and normally won’t become violent. They won’t be as depressed and have the ability to do well in school.

Anger

Some teens feel anger some more than others. Some teens get angry very easily and become violent very easily because of this make or keeping relationships would be very hard for them. The article I read about this topic said that “Teens may have dreams about killing people or other disturbing things if they have an abusive family or if they are stressed or going through something bad”. One other thing that can cause violent dreams is being bullied by others. These violent dreams could cause loss of sleep which in turn could cause problems in school and with relationships with people. Anger issues in teens could cause many problems some problems more serious than others since some could effect how they do in school meaning that they might have to retake a class or the entire grade. The other problem would be the violence because that would cause them to get in trouble often and when they are older they could go to prison.

Some teens on the other hand don’t get angry as easily as others which means that they won’t be as violent as some others. Since they don’t get angry as easily as others they won’t get in trouble as much and are more likely to do better in school. They would end up doing a lot better in school and when they are older they are less likely to go to jail because they are not as violent as others.

The Hobbit Big Ideas

In the beginning of the book the king under the mountain found the arkenstone or the heart of the mountain. Not too long after that, the dragon smoug attacked the mountain and the king wouldn’t leave because he didn’t want to leave his gold and especially the arkenstone behind. This shows how greedy the king was after he had found all the gold and heart of the mountain. Later in the story his son Thorin also does something like this he becomes a person who is fixated on finding the arkenstone from the inside of the mounds of gold. He had become something other than himself controlled by greed.

Technology

Some of the benefits of technology would be that it would make our lives easier, so less work for people. It might also make it so things cost less because people aren’t putting in the labor for the goods. Things would take less time to manufacture and would be in stores much sooner than if a person was doing it. Machines are much more efficient than people but people have better quality, so if we need a lot of a product really fast, a machine would be able to do that efficiently but would just lack the quality of when a person makes the product.

Replacing human interaction with technology would have a very negative effect on people. First off people would lose a lot of human interaction and might lose the ability to talk to people. Another thing is that a machine can’t always replace a human for some jobs like a customer service job. Most people would rather speak to a real person rather than a machine.

Flight Chapter 18

Chapter 18 of Flight says a lot about dads like how some of them have it harder than others. Some dads were abused by their fathers and either want to do better than them or just not be around so they can do the same to their kids. Like how Zits’s father was abused and left while his son was being born.

The memory that Zits’s father had this memory because his wife was giving birth to his son and since his father abused him he didn’t want to stick around so he could do the same to his son.

Some effects that this chapter has are that Zits gets more information on why his dad left and how Zits’s dad had a rough childhood with a father who abused him.
